Meet The Founder
Madeleine Bott, MA, IBCLC, lives in north central Kansas with her husband and two children, Kate and Levi. Her journey into lactation began with her own experience. After struggling with breastfeeding her first baby, Madeleine found herself wondering why something that is often portrayed as so natural can feel so incredibly difficult, and why so many mothers experience frustration, disappointment and guilt during an already vulnerable postpartum season.
That experience sparked a deep dive into the science, history and challenges of infant feeding. Madeleine went on to earn a Master of Arts in Human Lactation, developing a deeper understanding of the biological mechanisms of lactation as well as the many factors that can influence a family's feeding experience. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2025, expanding her education into hands on clinical experience through hundreds of hours working alongside experienced IBCLCs and completing specialized lactation training.
Today, Madeleine combines research based education with practical, real life guidance to help families feel more prepared, informed and confident in their feeding decisions. Through Happy Fed Babies, she has created a growing library of educational resources designed to meet families wherever they are, from pregnancy and those first days with a newborn, to pumping, returning to work, and everything in between.
But perhaps most importantly, Madeleine knows what it feels like to be on the other side of the consultation. She knows what it's like to feel overwhelmed and wonder why feeding your baby isn't going the way you imagined. She knows what it's like to sit on the floor in the middle of the night with a crying baby and wonder, "What am I doing wrong?"
If you're in that place right now, you're not alone. You don't have to figure it out by yourself.
Whether you're hoping to breastfeed, exclusively pump, combine breast and bottle feeding, use formula, or find a combination that works for your family, Madeleine's goal is to provide the information, skills and support you need to feel confident in your own feeding journey.
I'm so glad you're here.
